Storage capacity and almost no energy losses

Thermochemical heat storage is a promising solution for heat storage with a high energy density and no energy loss. However, there are significant challenges to overcome before it can be applied on large scale: the material stability, using standard reactors, controlling state-of-charge, difficult production process and high system costs. The results of this project are functional Energy-Pads™ and -stacks and validated supporting design tools. Additionally, the thermal battery has demonstrated proof of concept. Insight in the production method of the Energy-Pads™ and -stacks has been obtained. These project results are an important step towards realizing a thermochemical energy storage system.
